We host each safari personally, and tailor all to be the trip of a lifetime. Come as a couple, and consider inviting classmates, friends or family to join you. | The View from the Cape Town Villa |
Choose from two itineraries. Academy Safaris usually start with four nights in Cape Town in a villa with a grand view of False Bay. From the villa we tour historic Cape Town absorbing the sights and sounds of Table Mountain, Robben Island, the wine country of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, the V&A Waterfront, the District Six Museum, the African Penguin Colony, Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope and more. We take full advantage of many fine dining opportunities along the way.
After Cape Town, on safaris which include Victoria Falls, we typically fly to the airport at Hoedspruit, then bus to spend four nights in Sabi Sands adjoining Kruger Park. In our "bush camp" each couple has a private, luxurious chalet.
There,
our three hour game drives twice each day will traverse the same ground National Geographic's Safari Live chose for its rich density of game. It is reputedly the best safari grounds in the world. For a taste of what is to come, Google "National Geographic Safari Live" and tune into some of their online safari broadcasts.

We return to Johannesburg for a night then fly to Victoria Falls for two nights at the the grand dame of Zimbabwean colonial hotels, the Victoria Falls Hotel. We tour the falls and town on foot; enjoy two cruises on the Zambezi River among the crocs and hippos; plus take a helicopter ride over the falls. With luck, we will see elephants and other game along the river as well.
On safaris which do not include Victoria Falls, after three nights at Sabi Sands we decamp to a second bush camp in the vicinity of Kruger National Park for three more nights and days of wonderful game viewing. There again, each couple has a luxurious, private chalet.

Accommodations, ground transport, all scheduled activities, parks fees, all breakfasts and two catered dinners in Cape Town are included. All meals in bush camps plus house wines and liquors in Cape Town and in the bush camps are included. All air transport, tips and other meals in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Victoria Falls (4 lunches and 3 dinners - 4 dinners if going to Victoria Falls) are not included.

| A Close Encounter |
Right now there are just three spots for couples remaining for 2026. These are all in the Oct 5th to 16th, 2026 safari. The cost for that safari is $7995 per person sharing (excludes airfare). One 2027 safari is already filled. Another has two spots left and the other two have four spots. There are four spots in the May 1st to May 11th safari, 2027; four in the Oct 4th to Oct 15th, safari
2027 and two in the Oct 18th to Oct 28th, 2027 safari. The cost for 2027 safaris is $8495 per person sharing (excludes all airfare).
